A Bible-Believing, Gospel-Centered Church You’ll Love

After 28 years in the Air Force and preaching all over the world, I can tell you this: I’m tired of watered-down religion, feel-good pep talks, and churches that are scared to open the Bible.
So when God called me back to Mascoutah to pastor FBCM, I made one promise to Him and to you:
We will be unashamedly Bible-believing and unapologetically gospel-centered—every single Sunday.

Here’s what that actually looks like when you walk through our doors at 816 W Church Street:

1. The Bible isn’t a prop—it’s the entire flight plan

Every Sunday at 10:45 AM I walk up with one book in my hand, open it, and preach straight from it. No skipping the hard parts. No apologizing for what God said. If the Bible says it, I say it. Period.

2. I preach the gospel to Christians every single week

We never “move past” the cross. Whether you’ve been saved 50 years or you’re just checking Jesus out for the first time, you’ll hear the same gospel every week:

  • You’re more sinful than you dared believe

  • Jesus is more loving than you ever imagined

  • Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
I’ve seen grown men weep in the altar because they finally got it.

3. We sing truth, not just vibes

Our band plays songs that are rich in theology and actually singable: “In Christ Alone,” “His Mercy Is More,” “Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me,” and yes—even some Getty hymns your grandma loves.
We want you leaving humming doctrine, not just a catchy chorus.

4. We’re Baptist… but not weird about it Believer’s baptism by immersion ✓ Eternal security ✓ Local church autonomy ✓
But you’ll never have to sign a 47-point doctrinal statement just to drink our coffee or sit in a chair.

5. Real sinners, real grace, real change

You’ll sit next to former addicts, deployed spouses, single moms, CEOs, and retired Chiefs—all of us knowing we’re only here because Jesus dragged us out of the mess we made. Zero pretense. Just a whole lot of gratitude.

6. The same gospel that saves you keeps you and sends you

We don’t just want you to get saved—we want you to grow, serve, and take this gospel to your neighbors, your squadron, and your next assignment. I’ve watched brand-new believers become missionaries because the gospel is that powerful.

My Personal Promise to You

If you’re tired of shallow spirituality and churches that treat the Bible like an optional accessory, come sit with us any Sunday.
No hype. No gimmicks. Just Jesus—clearly proclaimed from an open Bible.
