Ronnie Tabor
LEAD PASTOR
Pastor Ronnie Tabor is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, master teacher, life coach, and a proud retiree from the United States Air Force after 28 years of faithful service.
He surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 8 and began preaching in his late teens. Ronnie earned his undergraduate degree from Liberty University, and completed postgraduate studies at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He was ordained at Wright Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, in 2015.
With over 20 years of diverse ministry experience shaped by military life, Ronnie has served churches in Illinois, Florida, California, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Most recently, as Senior Pastor of Crossroads Church, he led the congregation through remarkable revitalization—growing average attendance from 40 to 230, celebrating 280 baptisms, and seeing record in ministry volunteers. His heart for church health and growth aligns perfectly with First Baptist Church's vision for reaching the Mascoutah community and military families near Scott Air Force Base.
A gifted storyteller and communicator, Ronnie ignites hope through authentic transparency and relatable teaching. Whether sharing triumphs or trials, he preaches with the warmth of a conversation on the couch—moving audiences between laughter and tears while reminding everyone they're not alone in their journey. Having walked through both the highs and lows of life, including the unique challenges of military service, Ronnie connects deeply with families facing deployments, transitions, and everyday struggles.
Ronnie is married to the love of his life, Carrie, who hails from Granite City, Illinois. Together they share a deep calling to Metro East and are thrilled to serve at FBCM. They are incredibly proud parents of two wonderful sons and their amazing daughters-in-law, and doting grandparents to two precious grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter who joined the family in 2025. The Tabors can't wait to build relationships, ignite hope, and see lives transformed through Jesus Christ right here in Mascoutah.
